As expected, the devices will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor, one that Qualcomm created specifically to run full Windows 10 on mobile devices. Qualcomm revealed the deal which will see ASUS, Lenovo, and HP develop PCs ideal for mobility. Of course, the Snapdragon 835 CPU will be the highlight of those devices alongside Windows 10. Qualcomm’s processor features the new X16 LTE modem, which is 10 times faster than first-gen 4G LTE devices. During a demo a Qualcomm representative managed to download a 1.9GB video in under 30 seconds. The company’s employee used a prototype device connected to a custom gigabit LTE network. “We are thrilled that OEMs are sharing our vision to bring the Windows 10 experience to the ARM ecosystem, powered by Qualcomm Technologies,” said Matt Barlow, corporate vice president of Windows Marketing, Microsoft.

As mentioned above, the Snapdragon 835 CPU allows OEMs bring the Windows 10 experience to the ARM ecosystem. Given that, we might also see tablets, convertibles, and even phones come out of this collaboration. Microsoft and Qualcomm are clearly onto something promising that could change the way consumers work while on-the-go. After all, the Windows Store is already offering users the ability to purchase data when they need it. Speaking of data, Windows devices on Snapdragon will come with embedded e-SIM support. This will allow users to go online easily, without using a SIM tray or a tiny card. Devices with SIM trays can also connect using e-SIM adapters.
