The lack of desktop support is worrying, but then Fake News is typically spread through social networks on mobile devices. NewsGuard is a website that rates news items based on their legitimacy. It is a valuable tool in the fight against the spread of fake news, which has moved into the spotlight in recent years. While Edge is now better protected against Fake news, Microsoft would point users towards Microsoft News. The company’s news aggregating replacement for MSN News is available on iOS and Android. Microsoft says its News app is free from fake news. Last month, Darren Laybourn, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft News described how the company prevents fake news on its service. The executive confirmed Microsoft uses a team of 800 employees located around the world to curate content. Laybourn says the company uses machine learning and AI solutions to help with finding fake news.
