This new Microsoft division first fell on the radar earlier this month. According to Windows Latest, the Android Microsoft Platform and Experiences is starting to take shape. As we heard before, Microsoft AMPX will improve the way Android integrates with Windows 11. Moreover, the division will focus on the ongoing development of a link between Windows 11 and Android. This will include products related to this link, including Phone Link, the Surface Duo smartphone OS, Microsoft Launcher, SwiftKey, and more.
Job Listings
Signalling Microsoft’s seriousness on this division, the company is now looking for talent to fill positions in the Microsoft AMPX team. There are two jobs (1, 2) available at the moment, both for Senior Software Engineers: “In this role you will work with your peers to develop a quality system for assessing and improving the quality of our features and products. Specifically:
Influence product definition and development based on quality and risk factors. Define and track feature and product success metrics. Build automation and tools as necessary to assess quality and investigate failures. Assess feature and product readiness through the use of customer and engineering data. Work with other engineers to collaborate on tools and processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk.”
It is unclear whether one of the goals of Microsoft AMPX is to build a way to run Android on Windows, but it is unlikely. Tip of the day: The Windows Clipboard history feature provides the functionality across device, space, and time, letting you copy on one computer and paste the text days later on a different PC. All of it is possible via the Windows 10 clipboard manager, which lets you view, delete, pin, and clear clipboard history at will. In our tutorial we show you how to enable the feature, clear clipboard history, and enable/disable clipboard sync to meet your preferences. You can also create a clear clipboard shortcut for quick removal of stored content.
