The New York City-based company announced it has employed Joseph Sirosh on its Twitter account this week. Compass says he will not become head of its engineering team and Chief Technology Officer. Microsoft is now seeking a new Chief Technology Officer of AI. The company has yet to name a successor to Sirosh or confirm if the new appointment will be made internally. Sirosh’s decision to leave Microsoft ends his five-and-a-half years with the company. Interestingly, he has only been Corporate Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of AI since June 2018. With that in mind, it seems Compass has poached Sirosh and he was not let go by Microsoft.

— Compass (@Compass) December 4, 2018 Before receiving his promotion this year, Sirosh had worked as CVP of the Cloud AI Platform for Microsoft. During that tenure, he took charge of Cognitive Services, Machine Learning, the Bot Framework, Azure Search, and other teams.

Compass

Compass is a real estate brokerage that uses technology to reduce the buying and selling times of properties. Noted as one of the largest luxury brokerage firms in the US, the company has been developing AI solutions for real-estate. Sirosh will now help to implement those solutions and lead further development.
