Several engineers and developers working at the Redmond giant will help developers learn more about creating the next generation of intelligent apps. That includes enterprise-grade solutions that use the latest AI and Machine Learning techniques. During the Workshop there will be a keynote talk on Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence vision, followed by technical sessions on the following subjects:

“New Artificial Intelligence / Cognitive Apps Deep Learning Applied Machine Learning for Developers Big AI, i.e. the intersection of Big Data & artificial intelligence From BI to AI, I.e. evolving relational databases & data warehouse solutions into the new world of AI”

Registration and gear

In the announcement blog post, Microsoft notes that in order to attend the AI Immersion Workshop, developers should register at a special registration page. That registration site will open in late March. In addition, the company states that attendees should bring and user their own laptops through most of the day. The company will provide plenty of food, snacks, and caffeine throughout the event.

Microsoft’s Build

As mentioned before, the AI Immersion Workshop will be a pre-event to Build 2017. Microsoft’s Build is an annual conference event held by the Redmond giant since 2011. Microsoft’s Build is aimed towards software and web developers using Windows, Windows Phone, Microsoft Azure, and other technologies. First held in 2011, it succeeded the company’s previous developer events:

Professional Developers Conference: An infrequent event which covered the development of software for the Windows operating system. MIX: An annual conference held from 2006 to 2011, which covered web development centering on Microsoft technology such as Silverlight and ASP.net

The Professional Developers Conference was initially held in July 1992 and in 2011 was merged with MIX to form the Build Conference. On January 24, 2012, the official Microsoft blog stated that there will be no MIX 2012. MIX was replaced by BUILD later that year. In Build 2017, Redstone 3 is expected to be the focus of the event. Redstone 3 is the second feature update for Windows 10, likely scheduled for launch in fall 2017.
