Called the Ninja Battles Featuring Fortnite, the events will be held each week starting on May 28. Tournaments happen from Monday to Thursday each week and will be held until the end of July. Last August, Microsoft announced its Mixer game streaming division had tied up Ninja in an exclusive stream contract. Several other high-profile game streamers followed and Mixer’s stock has since risen. As the name suggests, Ninja will be the host of the tournaments, with all events taking place on his channel. For Fortnite players, the tournaments will present a lucrative chance to win money playing the popular game.

Ninja Battles Featuring Fortnite will have $400,000 in prize money and will include 60 of the world’s leading Fortnite professional players. While the tournaments are on Mixer, players from Twitch, YouTube, and other streaming platforms will also be able to play. Fortnite has a popular professional tournament network that includes live tournament events. However, during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all Ninja Battles Featuring Fortnite will adhere to stay-at-home measures. “I joined Mixer to push boundaries, create different types of streaming content and interact with fans in new ways,” Ninja said in a statement. “Ninja Battles brings a new kind of gameplay to the community. I am excited to share this competitive experience with my fans as well as have my fellow gamers and friends participate.”
