The AI supercomputers will be able to provide massive workloads to train AI and help scale AI solutions. Nvidia will leverage Microsoft’s virtual machine instances and it the supercomputer will be based on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. It will also use the H100 and A100 data center GPUs from Nvidia, as well as the company’s Quantum-2 InfiniBand platform for networking. Combining technology from both companies will allow enterprises to access a full AI suite to train, scale, and deploy the latest machine learning models. “AI technology advances as well as industry adoption are accelerating. The breakthrough of foundation models has triggered a tidal wave of research, fostered new startups and enabled new enterprise applications,” says Nvidia vice president of enterprise computing Manuvir Das. “Our collaboration with Microsoft will provide researchers and companies with state-of-the-art AI infrastructure and software to capitalize on the transformative power of AI.” The partnership will also focus on optimizing Microsoft’s DeepSpeed deep learning software. Microsoft Azure enterprise customers will have access to the complete stack of Nvidia AI workflows and SDKs.

Collaboration

Microsoft and Nvidia have a long history of co-development on AI projects. The partnership previously revealed a major breakthrough in video training by leveraging multimodal transformers. In a paper titled : “Parameter Efficient Multimodal Transformers for Video Representation Learning,” researchers discuss how they reduced multimodal transformer size by 97 per cent to achieve improved AI training for video clips of 30 seconds (sampled at 480 frames, 16 per second). Microsoft and Nvidia also previously announced a new AI language generation AI. Tip of the day: To prevent attackers from capturing your password, Secure Sign-in asks the user to perform a physical action that activates the sign-in screen. In some cases, this is a dedicated “Windows Security” button, but the most common case in Windows is the Ctrl+Alt Del hotkey. In our tutorial, we show you how to activate this feature.
