Many Windows 10 users may not know what My People is considering it was a relatively under-promoted tool. Microsoft now says development of the feature has ended, while the shell extension has been depreciated. “My People is no longer being developed. It may be removed in a future update.” Microsoft launched My People with the Fall Creators Update two years ago. The idea behind the tool was to serve as a location for most frequently used contacts on Windows 10. Users could tap into the hub to more quickly enter a conversation. This would be more efficient if a contact’s head was placed directly into the taskbar. My People failed to gain traction as few developers baked in support to their apps. Indeed, the writing has seemingly been on the wall as even Microsoft has shown little interest in the tool. The company’s own Windows 10 apps such as Xbox Live Chat, Yammer, and Microsoft Teams have not integrated with My People.

Windows 10 November 2019 Update

While Windows 10 Version 1909 is a limited update focused on bug fixes and performance enhancements, there are some feature additions. Microsoft has placed a new search experience in File Explorer. Specifically, the search tool will now look through OneDrive online accounts as well as local files. As we have seen in recent years, Microsoft is moving Cortana away from being a consumer product. The voice assistant is still available on the Windows 10 lock screen through the November 2019 Update. However, other voice assistants are now also available on the lock screen.
